The largest dog show in the world brings together the crème de la crème of the show world. Each participating dog must earn its place—either by qualifying at selected international shows or by obtaining the title of European or World Champion.
Arya repeatedly confirmed her right to compete on the iconic green carpets in 2023—not only by qualifying but also by achieving the European and World Junior Champion titles. Yet, the journey ahead was long and unfamiliar to us 🙂
What finalized our decision? The prospect of being judged by the renowned Glenn Davies, a long-time breeder and breed specialist from Waterley Kennel.
As the event approached, our joy and excitement grew. We anticipated seeing all the amazing Tibetan Terriers, and reconnecting with friends from around the world who share our passion! Our team faced many firsts: the first time driving such a long distance, the first time in the UK, the first time at Crufts, and most importantly, the first time showing our own dog!
The journey was smooth, filled with laughter, conversations, and good spirits. We planned a rest day to relax, shop, and enjoy a great dinner with our American friends from the Barnstorm by Dzine team.
D-Day finally arrived! I had never seen so many Tibetan Terriers (158) in one place! Crufts did not disappoint—watching an experienced judge navigate strong classes full of representatives from top kennels was incredible.
Arya, performing in perfect harmony with Radek, didn’t put a paw wrong. I was bursting with pride and love as I heard people around the ring ask about the beautiful bitch in the show 😊
We watched with bated breath as Radek and Arya were first shortlisted and then vied for first place in the class! And then it happened—a blue ribbon for second place and an explosion of joy—the first time in history that a Slovak Tibetan Terrier has placed in this way at Crufts!
But the highlight was yet to come—the Best of Breed win for the wonderful Fancy, our friends’ female, with whom we shared this incredible day from start to finish.
This day was and will remain unforgettable for all of us—a huge thank you to everyone who participated and shared in our joy. We look forward to the future!
